Hi I’m Lauren!

I’m a University of Virginia graduate, former elementary educator and family assistant, turned lifestyle and home manager. After spending years in the classroom and in families’ homes, I decided to take my passion for helping others and sharing hospitality to the next level by creating Curated Concierge.
As an educator, I learned the importance of communication, resourcefulness, patience, and attention to detail. These skills have been invaluable in building relationships with my clients and getting results. While in the classroom, I was constantly wearing multiple hats and being asked to solve many different problems, all while thinking on my feet, with children quite literally at my feet!
After spending thirteen years in the classroom, I took advantage of an opportunity to join a family and serve as their private educator, while they spent a year traveling. This role challenged me to balance work life and personal life like never before. I experimented with different schedules and researched interactive activities to optimize learning, while immersing the children in the culture of the different locations. I also maximized my time off by researching and planning my own itineraries. I wanted to take advantage of what each location had to offer- a cup of coffee and a croissant at a French café, a hot chocolate high atop the ski slopes, a glass of wine among the vines in Napa, a horseback riding excursion to view the fall foliage in Aspen, and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. These excursions were few and far between, but that experience really taught me to be intentional about how I chose to spend my time.
While that was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I missed Virginia and longed to be back in Charlottesville. So after two years in California, my sweet pup Rugby and I moved back home. Soon after, I joined a family as their family assistant. I managed their children and their home. I saw firsthand how busy family life can get while trying to juggle a career and a home. I began by taking inventory of the family’s needs and collaboratively implementing systems to support them with empathy and respect for their family values. No task was too big or too small- plan three different themed birthday parties, arrange a sitter for the dog, sign up and pack the kids for summer camp, schedule home repair appointments and be available to greet the vendors and answer questions, select and wrap gifts for family and friends. The goal was to make their daily lives easier, while simultaneously anticipating and planning for their future needs.
My years of experience working with families in multiple capacities have culminated to the creation of Curated Concierge. My role has changed, but my passion for helping people and sharing hospitality has remained the same. I know firsthand that letting someone into your home or calendar is intimate. With Curated Concierge, you can expect a level of trust and communication that makes you feel heard and supported without judgment. Let me help you do less and live more!
With gratitude and light,

Lauren
